How to get to Shibuya Crossing:
Shibuya crossing is located right outside Shibuya Station’s Hachiko exit.
Tourists who carry JR pass, you can take the major city train, the JR Yamanote Line, and you get off at Shibuya Station
I highly recommend you visit Shibuya crossing at night than morning or afternoon as more people pass this spot. Too, you can appreciate better the digital signage display around at night time.
One of the very important things to do at Shibuya Crossing is passing through the crowd which in my opinion is a complete enigmatic experience.
THE UNOFFICIAL MASCOT, HACHIKO
Hachiko was the famous dog back in 1920. Hachiko would meet his owner, Eizaburo Ueno, a professor at Tokyo university, everyday after work at the station. However one afternoon, Ueno died because of hemorrhage. Hachiko kept coming to the station for 10 years, waiting for his owner to return until it died. This small statue was erected in memory of Hachiko, which symbolizes loyalty and perseverance.
